Member Profile: Laufteam Lila

Laufteam Lila was founded in 2019, and is a running/walking team that rises awareness and collects donations for pancreatic cancer research in Switzerland.

They are present at big running events with information desks, and recently have started also with a walking event; every spring there is the “Slow-up” where people walk, bike, roller blade, whatever around the Murtensee, so 30km of totally flat road. The road is closed to cars during the event. They have been participating with our Lilamobil, and talking about early symptoms of pancreatic cancer with all interested people along the way.

For world pancreatic cancer day they collaborate closely with the Swiss patient organisation “Schweizer Selbsthilfeorganisation Pankreaserkrankungen” and the hospitals of their region. They produce together videos for social media, and to have information desks in the hospitals.

They appreciate the help for printed materials and the designs for ready use, especially when they are available in German, too. During the next year they hope to intensify our presence in the hospitals for World Pancreatic cancer day, and to find new members for our dynamic team. Even though it is a very serious cause, they still have lots of fun together!
